Use MCASD as a looking and research reference
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego traces its La Jolla origins to the former home of Ellen Browning Scripps and describes a museum focused on art from 1950 to the present. Its expanded galleries create a concrete reference for scale, material, interpretation, and display. Museum proximity cannot authenticate an offered work, imply endorsement, or establish that a private seller is affiliated with the institution.
Build a transaction file containing artist, title, date, medium, support, framed and image dimensions, weight, edition information where applicable, condition, and documented ownership history. Request current images of the face, reverse, edges, labels, signature, frame joints, and hardware. Treat any asserted La Jolla or museum connection as a separate claim requiring evidence, not as a conclusion drawn from subject matter or geography.
