How to use this research
The mean and median answer different questions. The mean pools spending and divides it by respondents, so a small number of very large purchases can pull it upward. The median is the middle respondent. Neither is the typical price of one painting. For a purchase here, compare the listed USD artwork price with your own budget and request the delivered total separately. Do not divide rounded averages to manufacture a representative painting price.
