The quote should name the origin and destination ZIP codes, selected carrier, final packed dimensions and weight, service endpoint, signature or appointment terms, insurance or declared-value arrangement, and any unpacking work. If the seller cannot confirm the painting's physical location, it should not describe the route as domestic until that fact is resolved.

When the exact painting is confirmed in Arizona and its delivery address is in the 50 states or the District of Columbia, that leg is a domestic shipment rather than a CBP import.

A different analysis applies if a work is actually outside the United States and will cross the border. CBP's guidance for personal goods purchased overseas describes a clearance process and says a formal entry may be required in some cases. That foreign entry needs an identified importer, truthful value and origin, a carrier or broker, and shipment-specific classification. A domestic Lei-Kol quote should never borrow an import threshold or customs rule from that separate scenario.

USPS mailing standards require a package to withstand normal handling, cushion fragile contents, prevent movement inside the container, and remain within the selected service's size and weight rules. A large textured canvas may exceed a parcel service's practical limits even when the bare painting appears manageable.

The shipping decision should therefore follow professional packing measurements rather than a product-page dimension alone, and another carrier or freight service may be needed.

If a sale offer says United States shipping is included, the written approval should define the covered destinations and service level. Alaska, Hawaii, islands, remote ZIP codes, gated properties, towers, appointment delivery, stairs, unpacking, wall placement, and packaging removal can create different costs and handoffs. The quote should separate artwork, packing, carrier charge, insurance or declared value, storage exposure, and optional final-room services, even when the seller absorbs one of those categories.

The invoice should show the tax treatment actually applied and should not hide a tax assumption inside an all-in price. Arizona also publishes a documented interstate-commerce deduction example for an order placed from outside Arizona, shipped outside Arizona, and used outside Arizona.

Arizona's Department of Revenue describes a retail sale as a transfer of tangible personal property and says the retail TPT calculation begins with gross receipts unless a statutory deduction or exclusion applies. That guidance does not support calling original art tax-free, and paying with Bitcoin, another cryptocurrency, PayPal, or card does not by itself change the character of the underlying painting sale.

That is an Arizona reporting rule, not a nationwide exemption and not a conclusion about another state's sales or use tax. The seller should preserve the order location, delivery address, carrier receipt, invoice, and any exemption documentation, then use current tax settings or professional advice to determine what must be collected for the actual destination.

Section 202 of the U.S. Copyright Act separates ownership of a physical object from ownership of the copyright embodied in it, and section 204 generally requires a signed writing for a copyright transfer. Buying an original painting therefore should not be described as automatically granting reproduction, merchandise, advertising, tokenization, or other copyright rights.

If any permission beyond ordinary ownership and display of the canvas is included, the invoice or a separate signed licence should identify it precisely.

The buyer's permanent file should connect the signed certificate, invoice, title, artist, year, medium, dimensions, front and reverse photographs, condition and packing images, payment record, carrier record, and delivery confirmation. If crypto is used, also record the controlling fiat amount, asset, network, rate source and timestamp, receiving-address verification, and confirmation requirement. Those records document the physical acquisition without implying a copyright transfer that the parties never made.
