Use Gallery Without Walls as a research route
Lake Oswego says Gallery Without Walls began in 2002 and includes rotating and permanent downtown sculptures, while the City's broader permanent collection exceeds 200 works. The Arts Council manages the collection on the City's behalf. This documented program supports comparison of material, scale, placement, and public interpretation, but cannot authenticate a private work, establish seller affiliation, or define residents' collecting preferences.
Create a transaction file with artist, title, date, medium, support, dimensions, weight, edition information where relevant, condition, and substantiated ownership history. Request current images of the face, reverse, edges, labels, signature, frame joints, and hardware. If a seller claims an exhibition, commission, or Arts Council connection, ask for the catalog, agreement, or correspondence and state only the relationship that record actually demonstrates.
