Nigeria Customs Service's March 2026 courier guidance says courier declarations must carry accurate goods descriptions and values and be supported by records such as invoices, airway bills, and packing lists. It also links release to declaration verification, payment of applicable public charges, and inspection where required.

Those provisions apply to the courier process described by NCS; a sea-freight, air-cargo, or other route may use different operational steps. The buyer or licensed representative should confirm the live declaration channel and responsibilities before collection in Arizona.

The seller file should identify the buyer, artist and seller, individual title, creation year, original acrylic-on-canvas medium, dimensions, quantity, United States origin, price, currency, and sale terms. It should also contain current front and reverse photographs, signature detail, certificate, packing list, protected dimensions and weight, freight and insurance records, and the carrier document. The room plan should record usable wall dimensions, wall construction, direct-sun periods, reflected glare, active cooling outlets, exterior-wall dampness, and a secure dry unpacking area. A digital mock-up can test scale but cannot reproduce texture, exact display color, or environmental performance.

The written quote should separately list the painting, export packing, international freight, insurance, customs representation, estimated government assessments, terminal handling, storage risk, Lagos local delivery or Abuja inland service, and optional unpacking or installation. It should identify which party collects each amount, which figures are fixed or estimated, where each transport leg ends, and who holds responsibility between providers.

Carrier acceptance, importer review, and building access should be completed before payment instructions are issued.

If the buyer selects crypto, the approval record should preserve the controlling fiat price, asset, blockchain network, conversion source and timestamp, receiving-address verification, required confirmations, and transaction identifier. Card or PayPal terms should identify the charged currency, capture point, and applicable cancellation or refund rules. The commercial sequence is availability, importer and route review, valuation and classification check, measured access plan, itemized quote, buyer approval, payment, packing evidence, declaration handoff, tracking, release, and final delivery confirmation.
