How should you choose the declarant and DMS route before dispatch?
Dutch Customs says import declarations in the Netherlands are submitted electronically through DMS and may be made by the importer or a representative. For cargo entering through a Dutch port, the Container Release Message process means the import declaration is accepted only after the goods have arrived and been unloaded.
An air route, road continuation from another EU entry point, or transit procedure can create a different sequence. The buyer, carrier, and customs representative should identify the EU entry office, Dutch declaration route, importer of record, and person receiving document requests before the crate leaves Arizona.
The declaration packet should identify the seller and buyer, invoice number and date, artist, individual title, actual creation year, original acrylic-on-canvas medium, dimensions, quantity, transaction price, currency, United States origin, and agreed delivery terms. Add the certificate, current front, edge, reverse, and signature photographs, packing list, protected dimensions, gross weight, freight and insurance evidence, and airway bill or bill of lading when issued. The same title, value, origin, and measurements should appear in the invoice, certificate, carrier record, and information supplied through DMS.
