The National Art Gallery Act establishes the country's national gallery, but provisions applying to an institution should not be copied onto a private purchase. For a new Lei-Kol canvas, the buyer or broker should confirm the current tariff classification, declared value, VAT, duty, fees, and required entry procedure with Barbados Customs rather than rely on a continent-wide estimate.

Barbados' Customs Act provides the legal framework for import administration and customs valuation.

The seller's job is to provide a clean commercial record: original artwork title, artist, medium, year, dimensions, transaction price, origin, photographs, and certificate. The carrier document and invoice should use the same description. Under-declaring value or calling the work a gift would contradict the sale and could undermine insurance, customs clearance, and provenance. This guide therefore treats the real invoice as a trust asset, not an obstacle to be minimized.

The quote should identify whether service ends at the airport, port, broker facility, curb, lobby, or room. Brokerage, customs examinations, storage, appointment delivery, unpacking, installation, and packaging removal are separate items unless expressly included. The buyer should know who receives arrival notices and who is authorized to respond; otherwise a technically successful international flight can still become a failed residential delivery.

Barbados' coastal light and climate make good photography and placement planning important, but the site should not invent one Barbadian interior style. The buyer should send photographs of the wall during the brightest period, identify direct sun and reflected glare, show nearby windows and exterior doors, and note air-conditioning vents or signs of moisture.

A stable conditioned interior away from direct exposure is the goal; the seller cannot certify an unseen room.

The visual recommendation should explain scale in relation to the actual wall and viewing distance. A wide canvas over a seating area, a vertical work near a stair, and a smaller painting in a shaded study solve different problems. The texture should be shown through close detail and raking-light video. Digital visualization can compare dimensions but must be labeled as a simulation, never as proof of exact color or surface in the buyer's home.

State whether each number is fixed, estimated, prepaid, or payable directly to a third party. If a carrier cannot yet confirm a Barbados service level, say so; replacing uncertainty with a seven-to-fourteen-day promise would create a conversion claim the operation cannot support.

Before payment, separate the art price from packing, international transport, brokerage, government charges, local delivery, storage risk, and optional installation.

If the buyer chooses crypto, document the fiat price, asset, blockchain network, rate source and timestamp, receiving address verification, and confirmation requirement. The wallet address should arrive only after the buyer approves the invoice and destination plan. Packing photographs, final dimensions, carrier reference, and clearance documents then create a traceable post-payment handoff.
