Keep community history and object history separate
Fisher Island Community Association publishes a history of the island and describes its role as the master homeowners' association. This primary community source can clarify local names, development, and governance. It does not authenticate an artwork, prove an object came from a named estate, or create an association endorsement. County public-art records likewise apply only to works and sites the County documents.
Request the invoice, catalogue, correspondence, photograph, label, or traceable ownership document supporting a Fisher Island claim. Record maker, title, date, medium, support, dimensions, weight, edition, marks, condition, treatment, and custody. Photograph front, reverse, edges, frame, backing, mounts, and hardware. Treat privacy-driven gaps as gaps, not permission to invent an owner, address, collection, or institutional connection.
