Keep Montevideo municipal and national collections distinct
Museo Blanes reports nearly 4,000 flat works and more than 200 sculptures, with rotating collection exhibitions. MNAV documents a national patrimony exceeding 7,000 works and current programming at Parque Rodó. These collections overlap in artists and national history but remain separate institutions. They do not authenticate an outside work, describe private inventory, or establish a single Montevideo aesthetic.
Record the candidate's artist, title, date, medium, dimensions, weight, frame, condition, provenance, and display requirements. Identify the exact museum record used for comparison and preserve its inventory data where available. Photograph the intended room and measure actual sightlines. A work seen in a large gallery may read differently beside furniture or daily circulation, so fit must be tested on the private site.
