UNESCO identifies Bagan as a sacred landscape of Buddhist art and architecture. Its nomination documentation describes narrative paintings on walls and decorative patterns under vaults, created across different periods. The position of an image matters to its reading. A contemporary canvas can be studied for a similar relationship between its broad organisation and the details encountered close up, while retaining its independent purpose.
Compare a continuous field with separate scenes
Ask whether the painting should be read as one atmosphere or as several distinct episodes. On a detailed work, look for the boundaries between passages and whether colour connects them. If the room has arches, alcoves or a low ceiling, photograph those features with the wall. A canvas does not need to mimic the architecture, but its proportions should be assessed within that setting rather than against an empty digital background.
Review the actual destination before arranging funds
